How should I contact you?

For all enquiries, please first email, call or get in touch via the contact form, explaining what you are looking to accomplish, and a rough timeframe if you are working to one.

How do you work?​

I mix "in the box" using the latest version of Logic Pro X. Many people will praise the benefits of outboard hardware and other fancy gadgets for mixing; however, from my own (sometimes bitter) experience, I can say that in my opinion there are two things which are far more important that anything else in producing a high quality, professional sounding mix:

• a mixing engineer who can provide an excellent foundational knowledge of the basics of mixing

• a strong dose of good taste!

Just because someone makes a multitude of promises about their gear and their credentials, it does not mean they are guaranteed to send you a tasteful, well honed mix!

 

Through extensive experience, I have learnt to avoid the pitfalls of not getting the basics right. I will first work hard to optimise: 

​

• Balancing - volumes, panning

• Editing - any tuning, gating (as and where necessary, and at the discretion of the client)

• EQ sculpting

• Compression

• Additional reverb, delay, etc where necessary

Once these foundational elements are in place, I will use my own creative judgement to produce a mix which I think best serves the song. If you have any further question about any of the above at any point before or during the process, I will always be happy to help.

How long will it take?​

No mix takes more than a week to complete, and most should take 2-3 days.

How many revisions can I have?

Unlimited revisions - we are here to try and get a result which you are 100% satisfied with.

What format should I send my files in?

Please try to send your files in 44,100kHz 24bit WAV.

​

What files do you need?

Anything which constitutes an individual track in the project. You are more than welcome to submit stems created from different tracks comped together if you think it better serves your needs. Please feel free to ask if in any doubt.

How do I send you my files?

Please send all files via WeTransfer.

What types of music do you accept?​

In my opinion, mixing is a universally applicable craft. There is no genre of music which I feel I would be outside of my range of skills. However, I would be more than happy to discuss this honestly with you beforehand, to make sure we are definitely a good fit.

Do I have to be based in the UK?

No, the beauty of online mixing is that you can communicate and share files remotely from anywhere in the world.

Do you offer a mastering service?

We don't feel that we currently have either the tools or the expertise to provide the very best quality in mastering. There are numerous excellent mastering services out there, online or otherwise, and I would be happy to give you some recommendations once you are happy with your mix.

Can I get my money back if I'm not happy with the mix?

I'm currently working for free, so you have little to lose! However, my ethos has always been one of complete customer satisfaction. I would never make somebody pay for work that they felt did not meet their own personal standards.
